Around the Resort
Lāna‘i Pine Sporting Clays & Archery Range
Our expansive highlands center features a 14-station sporting clay course, skeet field, wobble traps, compact sporting range, 12-station archery range and six-station air rifle range.
One of the most challenging Sporting Clay sites in the world, the facility features a dramatic landscape of deep gulches and ravines, vast expanses of pampas grass and groves of Australian pine and lantana brush. With each station offering sporting clays launched to simulate flight patterns of duck, quail, dove, pheasant and even running rabbit patterns, this course offers endless challenge and entertainment. Beginners are introduced to the sport with a 45-minute lesson by a certified instructor, emphasizing the essence of the sport and gun safety.
The 12-station Archery Range offers a chance to experience this majestic medieval sport. With professional instruction, equipment for all sizes and strengths and safety gear, the red, yellow and blue targets are set from five - 25 feet, based on the archers’ skill level. Archers who complete the day by hitting the ‘Golden Pineapple’ are rewarded with an island keepsake.
The Air Rifle Gallery is a six-station shooting experience, reminiscent of the carnival shooting game, but with a modern twist. A variety of targets, such as bells, bull’s-eyes and spinners are set up to sharpen one’s shooting skills. Each air pellet rifle is equipped with a laser sighting, which the shooter can use for precision targeting, or without for a bigger challenge.
Managed by Dennis Rapp, a Level III instructor (the National Sporting Clays Association’s highest standing) Lāna‘i Pine Sporting Clays & Archery Range is an experience many will have for the first time, complete with skilled instruction and a setting like no other.

The horses are kind and gentle, suitable for all levels of riders - whether beginner or experienced.
A daily group ride is offered along the Paniolo Trail, as well as private rides in the afternoon for a more intimate experience, or for the experienced rider who wants to pick up the pace. Riders have the option of English or Western saddle, and for those under the age of nine, The Stables at Koele offer pony ride-walks.
Croquet & Lawn Bowling
With roots in the Roman Empire, the game now known as croquet made its way to France in the 1300s. Over the next half-millennium, the game continued to evolve as it spread through Europe, and to Britain, where it eventually became the modern-day game that it is now. British and American croquet are offered on three lawns at Four Seasons Resort Lāna‘i, The Lodge at Koele. Another sport with great history offered at The Lodge is lawn bowling. Rooted in ancient Rome, the sport was banned to commoners throughout Europe, but Scotland made the game readily available and is credited with its widespread popularity. Lawn bowling greens are available. Equipment and instruction for both croquet and lawn bowling are provided.
Executive Putting Course
In addition to The Experience at Koele course, and the nearby Challenge at Manele course, golfers of all levels can enjoy the executive putting course. A unique challenge with an innovative 18-hole, par-51 design, this course is a guest favorite. Winding along the countryside, adjacent to The Experience, the executive putting course is a great way to hone putting skills or simply enjoy a day of light recreation. Putters, golf balls and score cards are provided.
Hiking
Fascinating hiking routes are available here. Enjoy the solitude of Lāna‘i as the hike winds through the forested hills and valleys of the Koele highlands. The forest eventually gives way to open vistas and steep ravines, exposing the ridge of Koloiki with its spectacular views of neighboring islands. Hikes of all lengths and levels of difficulty are available around The Lodge.
