The entire fifth floor of Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza is dedicated to well-being, fitness and leisure.
Guests can indulge in a little pampering at the unique Daniela Steiner Beauty & Wellness Centre - the largest full service
Spa in Cairo – get fit in the Fitness Centre’s fully equipped gymnasium or relax amidst lush greenery and swaying palm trees on the Hotel’s vast pool deck, taking dips in any of the three heated pools.
A haven of tranquillity at the Spa
Daniela Steiner, the Austrian-born proprietress of exclusive Spas in choice world locations, manages the full-service Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza. This, her fifth operation, and the largest of its kind in Cairo, offers a comprehensive range of massages and beauty treatments for men and women.
The Daniela Steiner beauty treatment experience is supplemented by her sister Ulli’s expertise in preparing creams and oils containing natural ingredients which led to the creation of her own product line, used at the Spa. All of the products are handmade in Italy.
The Spa’s menu of treatments range from facials, pedicures and manicures to cleansing and slimming care and a range of specialised massages. Reflexology is also available and the Spa’s facilities include separate Jacuzzis, saunas and steam rooms for male and female guests.
The pampering begins the minute guests enter the Spa’s serene surrounds and are met with the fragrance of burning oils, relaxing background music and a candle-lit foyer. The Spa, with its décor in soothing tones of cream, tan and gray offers 15 treatment rooms for men and women, including a dedicated spa suite for couples.
Indigenous, authentic, exotic
The Spa offers many treatments inspired by ancient rituals from the Middle East, Asia and Europe. The Pharaonic Massage for example, is the modern day interpretation of a relaxing therapy enjoyed by the kings of ancient Egypt. The treatment starts with a body massage using a mixture of camomile herbs and warm lotus oil and is designed to improve the lymphatic system and give a calming and relaxing effect. The Thai Massage, another speciality, concentrates on the body’s pressure points to relieve tension and allow natural energies to flow freely again.
The Spa also offers the Aroma Massage – the mix of aromatic herbs and oils gently applied to the body to assist with destressing and allow knotted muscles to relax. At the same time, the skin is left wonderfully smooth and scented.
The Sports and Fitness Massage is a wonderful therapy both after a workout and for those who have experienced mild sports injuries. By working into tension areas, the massage can assist with pain relief and thus speed up the healing process.
A highlight on the Body Cleansing and Slimming menu is the Cleopatra Treatment, a wonderfully indulgent 80 minutes of bliss. Cleopatra’s legendary milk baths, which she took to preserve her beauty, has inspired a modern day treatment designed to soften and soothe the skin. A 30-minute milk and honey bath is followed by 50 minutes of body massage, leaving the body relaxed and the soul calmed.
Escape from city bustle
Set on a secluded rooftop, the Hotel’s extensive outdoor pool deck offers an oasis of calm. Lush landscaping, shaded alcoves, and three heated pools await. Guests can soak up the sun in between dips in the free form swimming pool or, for the energetic, have an aquatic workout in the lap pool and a tension easing session in the whirlpool.
Keep fit, Four Seasons-style
A work-out at the Hotel’s Fitness Centre won’t be tedious, for the floor to ceiling windows, offering panoramic views over the Nile, will be a pleasant diversion from the very serious pursuit of keeping fit.
In this, the largest facility of its kind in Cairo, guests can work out with a wide range of state-of-the-art gymnasium equipment including treadmills, free weights, Life Cycles™ and Stairmasters™. Separate workout facilities are available for women and certified trainers and fitness assessment counsellors are on hand to give guests individual programmes.
The Health Club – and the adjacent Spa - have the added advantage of accessibility to the Hotel’s glass domed indoor pool while the outside pool area is available for those who want to round off a vigorous training session by lounging under an umbrella.
